Your assignment tonight is to summarize the Battle of Bunker Hill in 3 - 5 sentences.  Watch the video below to help you.

Intolerable Acts and First Continental Congress Part Deux

Remember that you have two assignments tonight.  1) Complete your foldable.  One side has four details about the Intolerable Acts, the other has four details about the First Continental Congress.  There needs to be a picture on the front of each window and a sentence or two on the inside describing the detail.  Details could be:

Intolerable Acts
- Government Act
- Justice Act
- Port Bill
- Why the acts were created

First Continental Congress
- Came together to respond to the Intolerable Acts
- Each region had their own idea about what to do
- Congress came up with the Declaration of Rights and Grievances
- British refused ultimatum and sent more soldiers to the colonies

2) You need to watch the video and answer the following questions.





1. How many British soldiers were on the march towards Lexington and then Concord, Massachusetts?

2. Why were the British soldiers going to Concord?

3. How many militia men were waiting at Lexington to fight the British soldiers?

4. Who had come to warn the colonists that the British were coming?

5. What was the first Battle of the American Revolution? Who won?

Intolerable Acts and First Continental Congress

We wrapped up the week with our project on the events that led up to the American Revolution.  We discussed the several acts and taxes created by the British government, as well as the colonists' reaction to these laws like the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party.

This coming week class will focus on the final steps towards revolution starting the Intolerable Acts and the First Continental Congress.  You were to read pages 152 to 157 in class, answering questions 3 and 4 on page 157.  You also need to read the notes below and complete the notes quiz.  This needs to be finished Sunday evening by midnight.

Tax Timeline and Chapter 6 Quiz Prep

Great job in class today!  Everyone seems to be off to a good start on their CFA project.  Tomorrow we will continue working on the project and whatever is not finished will be homework for Friday.
